Zérró Santos Big Band Project | Jazz Brasileiro, Samba e Música Instrumental

Jazz InstrumentalSão Paulo / SP

Zérró Santos Big Band Project celebrates the strength of Brazilian jazz in a show that unites orchestral sophistication, improvisation and popular rhythms. Created in the late 1980s by the bassist, composer and arranger Zérró Santos, the formation brings together 27 musicians in a sound experience of great impact. Natural of Belém do Pará, Zérró built a trajectory alongside names such as Elza Soares, Dorival Caymmi, Nana Caymmi, João Donato, Leny Andrade and Paulo Moura. His work brings jazz language closer to the Brazilian cadence, exploring samba, baião, frevo, maracatu, funk and toadas. In 2024, the Big Band celebrated 35 years in Sesc Belenzinho with tribute to saxophonist David Sanborn. In 2026, Zérró continued in activity in the São Paulo scene, with presentations announced in formats such as quartet and quintet. With copyright arrangements, expressive metals and virtuous solos, the Big Band offers a striking spectacle for Sesc, theatres, jazz festivals and cultural programming.
