John Sheba | MPB, Sambalanço, Samba-Soul and Bossa Nova — Shows 2026
João Sabiá is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and actor from Rio, recognized for transforming MPB into a vibrant, dancing and full of Brazilian experience. With more than two decades of career, he developed a musical identity that brings together samba rock, soul, jazz and bossa nova, combining copyright compositions with rereadings of great names of Brazilian music.
Its trajectory goes beyond borders, with performances at the Rock in Rio, Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia, and Sambakana in Canada, as well as shows at important European houses such as Ronnie Scott's in London, and BIMHUIS in Amsterdam.
In 2026, he presented The Sound with the Smell of Sea at Blue Note São Paulo and took to Sesc the show Sabiá Ball, celebrating the tradition of the great Brazilian dances. He also presented João & Violão, an intimate project dedicated to bossa nova, sambalanço and the Brazilian song.
With presence of charismatic stage, suinged guitar and repertoire that revers Jorge Ben Jor, João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Marcos Valle and Jair Rodrigues, João Sabiá offers a show that connects generations.
An attraction for Sesc, festivals, theaters, cultural projects and events that value the diversity and richness of Brazilian popular music.
